Can a third party have an account at our district/school?
An educator who is officially employed by a Partner District or district using Basic Accounts can receive an Educator Account. An individual not officially employed by a Partner District or district using Basic Accounts cannot, under any circumstances, receive an Educator Account.
To obtain an Educator Account, an educator must request an account from their District or Site Admin, then register their account. CCGI will verify that District and Site Admin are employed by the district, but it is up to the District and Site Admin to determine whether Educator Accounts have been granted to educators employed by the district.
It is important that only educators employed by the district receive Educator Accounts, because the district has executed either a data-sharing agreement (Partner District) or an Educator Account Agreement (non-Partner Districts) with CCGI. These agreements ensure that access to student transcript data is legally compliant. CCGI will periodically audit Educator Accounts and work with District and Site Admins to revoke access if and where necessary.
