2022 CSAC Integration Enhancements
The goal of CaliforniaColleges.edu is to streamline the college application process so that more students across the state are empowered to pursue higher education. We do this by ensuring that the educational systems serving students are able to successfully share data with one another through CaliforniaColleges.edu To accomplish this, we collaborate with educational institutions across the state, including the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC).
Through an integration between CSAC’s financial aid application systems and CaliforniaColleges.edu, students have the ability to launch and track the status of their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) directly from CaliforniaColleges.edu Students can also see whether or not their school district has submitted their Cal Grant GPA to the CSAC.
Previously, the integration with CSAC required data about student application status to be manually processed by staff. This manual process would take more than a week. Because the previous process did not allow timely data exchange, the data on CaliforniaColleges.edu was sometimes not up to date.
As part of our continual efforts to improve the student experience on CaliforniaColleges.edu, we worked with CSAC to automate the data exchange process. Now, data is exchanged nightly, thereby ensuring that the data reflected on CaliforniaColleges.edu is accurate. This data includes the status of their financial aid application and CADAA and Cal Grant GPA. For students and educators, this means being able to see the most up-to-date financial aid application status on CaliforniaColleges.edu You will begin to see this new update once the financial aid season kicks off on October 1.
