Our Career Assessments Just Got Even Better
We are excited to announce some new features that will improve the Career Assessments and overall user experience on CaliforniaColleges.edu.
Background
The Career Assessments on CaliforniaColleges.edu help students discover their strengths and interests and learn how they connect to fulfilling careers through thoughtful questions. We work with Human eSources (HeS) to provide these Career Assessments to students.
Changes to the Career Assessments
As part of our continual efforts to improve the student user experience on CaliforniaColleges.edu, we updated the Career Assessments in 2022 to make it easier for students to navigate them, learn more about select careers that interest them, and better align them with industry best practices.
New Names for Assessments
The updated names better align the Career Assessments with their content, as well as
make them easier for students to navigate.
- Learning Styles Inventory is now Learning & Productivity.
- Multiple Intelligences is now Intelligences.
- Do What You Are is now Personality.
New Colors & Layout
Students will be able to better view and navigate results:
- Careers are in order of “best match”.
- Clicking a career takes users to a factsheet to learn more.
- Clicking the heart (♥) adds career to My Career Plan.
- Clean and organized summary report.
- Visual representation allows for easier understanding of results.
- Your Top Rated Careers shows the careers students already favorited, from this assessment result.
